The Moon & The Man Wooden Mask

SKU: 189
  • In each of our designs, we capture the life of the Kamentsa people in Colombia, our culture, traditions, and beliefs.

This design represents the Kamentsa man and the deep relationship we have with the moon and its phases. Being aware of the lunar cycles has allowed us to understand how agriculture works, the behavior of animals, the seasons of nature and our own cycles.

The moon allows us to make an introspection and enables us to understand that we, as humans,  are not linear beings. We are cyclical, and each day is a new opportunity to re-invent ourselves.

The mouth of the mask is blowing air, this is a very important gesture done by shamans when healing someone, the fresh air helps to clean the body, the soul and the mind of the person.
